The Ideas Competition
Applications are open from 1 August to 10 December 2026!
Every year, we launch the IdeaUP! Business Idea Competition, inviting creative minds to submit their innovative ideas. Whether you’ve developed a new technology, a groundbreaking business concept, an early-stage idea or a startup that is about to enter the market – we welcome ideas at every stage.
The best teams can choose the prize that best fits their needs from a diverse prize pool. In addition, a special award will be presented to the best EdTech idea (open to submissions from across Austria). The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 18 January 2027.
IdeaUP! at a Glance
- Application period: 1 August – 10 December 2026
- A panel of experts evaluates all business ideas based on their level of innovation, customer value, unique selling proposition, commercial viability and implementation potential.
- 18 January 2027 | 4:30–8:00 p.m.: IdeaUP! Award Ceremony featuring the announcement of the winners and a public vote for the Audience Award.
Prizes
The winning teams will receive attractive prizes. (To be announced.)
Conditions of participation
- The competition is open to innovators from the Austrian state of Salzburg, the neighbouring federal states and Bavaria.
- Participants must be at least 17 years old.
- Submissions from all across Austria are eligible.
